About Pearls
Overview
Pearls Academy, an initiative of Tranquil Hearts Inc, is a private educational institution that offers both secular and religious studies from kindergarten through eighth grade. The non-profit status allows us to reinvest all of our revenues back into fortifying our programs which nurture the growth of our children and community. Learning from the successes and challenges of other institutions, Pearls Academy aims to create quality programs delivered by experienced teachers to motivated students.
Vision & Mission
Pearls Academy aims to establish a unique center of Islamic learning within a school environment which caters to children, adults, and families alike. Its focus is to bring forth well-rounded believers, proud of their Muslim identity, upholding the highest level of moral character and grounded in their Quranic worldview and love of lifelong learning.
Pearls Academy’s mission is to offer for young American Muslims a safe Muslim environment where they can connect to Allah and His Messenger (Allah bless him and give him peace), experience Islam’s beauty and greatness and become people of the Quran in their recitations and characters, and in their mastery of their academic subjects. Our ultimate goal is to enable students to succeed in this world and the next, and be of great service to their own Muslim community as well as the American society at large.
Educational Philosophy
Pearls Academy derives its philosophy from the words of Allah (Most High), “Those who rehearse the Book of Allah, establish regular prayer and spend (in charity) out of what We have provided for them, secretly and openly, hope for a commerce that will never fail.” (35:29) And the words of the Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace), “Whoever treads a path seeking knowledge [of the religion or this world], Allah facilitates for him a path to Jannah” (Sahih, narrated by Imam Muslim). We have thus established a certifying tahfeedh program that focuses on teaching hifdh, tajweed, and understanding of the Quran, together with a detailed study of seerah to attach the hearts of students to the Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him and grant him peace).
The hifdh program is taught by highly qualified teachers who have memorized the Quran themselves and obtained authorizations to teach the Quran from recognized scholars. Our experienced and passionate teachers teach the Quran and Islam according to the vision of Pearls Academy, which is entirely inspired by approach of the Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him and grant him peace) towards teaching. It is a vision based on teaching with love, care and kindness.
We have also designed an academic program to further develop our students’ understanding and appreciation of the created world. We are inspired by the verse, “Say, O Prophet, “Are those who know equal to those who do not know?” None will be mindful of this except people of reason.” (39:9). Using state guidance and our selection of taught curriculum, we are devising our own holistic approach to academic instruction that aims to develop communication, reasoning, and critical thinking. Our aim is to offer students an authentic education which nurtures their minds and souls, and helps them see the world from both a scientific and spiritual perspective. The program is taught by subject experts whose mission is to convey their knowledge and passion for their subjects, and their love for learning, using the best and most interesting Prophetic techniques.
